Citizen satisfaction with the maintenance of City parks (Q17a) (2Q & 4Q)
Every quarter, the City of Olathe has survey company ETC Institute conduct a statistically valid satisfaction survey of randomly selected Olathe residents. Approximately 500 survey responses are collected each quarter, and this is well above the 300 responses approximately needed for statistical validity on a population the size of Olathe.
This is a question that is asked during just quarters 2 and 4 each year. It determines the overall citizen satisfaction with the Parks & Recreation Department's maintenance of City Parks. Survey respondents have deisgnated the maintenance of City Parks as the number one priority in Parks & Recreation that should receive the most emphasis over the next two years.
The target is set at 90% based on historical data.
In 2Q 2018, satisfaction with park maintenance in Olathe slightly declined. This is likely due to the dry, hot weather taking a toll on vegetation and beetle infestations attacking trees and shrubs in the parks and along medians. A rebound in satisfaction is anticipated in 3Q 2018. However, satisfaction with park maintenance in Olathe remains high and well above the KC region and National average.
