Citizen satisfaction with the maintenance of walking and biking trails (Q19_4) (Q2 & Q4)

Measure Description/Definition

Every quarter, the City of Olathe has survey company ETC Institute conduct a statistically valid satisfaction survey of randomly selected Olathe residents. Approximately 500 survey responses are collected each quarter, and this is well above the 300 responses approximately needed for statistical validity on a population the size of Olathe.

This is a question that is asked during only the 2nd and 4th quarters each year. It determines the overall citizen satisfaction with the Parks & Recreation Department's maintenance of walking and biking trails in the City. Survey respondents have designated the maintenance of walking & biking trails as one of the top two items in Parks & Recreation that should receive the most emphasis over the next two years.

Target Determination

The target was revised to 80% to be consistent with whole number targets, and is based on a balance of historical data and appropriate funding.

Analysis

Satisfaction with maintenance of walking and biking trails exceeded the target established for 2019. The City of Olathe maintains 26.5 miles of bike lanes, 26.4 miles of multi-use trails, 13.5 miles of trails within parks, and another 2.5 miles of trails in development.
