Measure Description
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) defines cost-burdened families as those “who pay more than 30 percent of their income for housing” and “may have difficulty affording necessities such as food, clothing, transportation, and medical care.” This measure specifically tracks how many households in our community are cost burdened using data from the US Census Bureau based upon a 5-year estimated average.
