Lane miles of streets preserved
Measure Description/Definition
The condition of the roadways in a community impacts mobility, commerce, and quality of life for its residents and businesses. The appearance of the roadways also makes a statement about the value of a community’s infrastructure and the commitment of the public to care for its transportation investment. This measure tracks the total area of street preventative maintenance mill and overlay treatment output in lane miles for a given budget year.
Target Determination
The City’s goal is to improve and maintain 112 lane miles in FY 2019.
Analysis
In FY 2020, 80 lane miles of mill and overlay and surface treatment were completed. This included 15 lane miles of arterial mill and overlay, 31 lane miles of local and collector mill and overlay, and 34 lane miles of surface treatment. The target is typically set at the expected amount of lane miles planned for preservation.
