The National Permit Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits the City wastewater treatment plants and sets the limits for numerous effluent parameters. This measures compliance required per permit issued by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE).

Target Determination

100% compliance required per permit issued by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE).

Analysis

Through 2020, the wastewater treatment plants were 100% compliant. Continuous improvements in plant maintenance, operations and treatment processes continue to provide consistently high quality wastewater treatment. Cedar Creek was 100% compliant the second year in a row, while Harold Street was 100% compliant the fourth year in a row.
